Update 101... So much has happened since making my list and I need to update things! Looking at the list I don't think I have made as much progress as I wanted to at this point but it is what it is! I am just excited that summer is officially over and fall is in full swing. Okay, here is the update!
#3 Learn to surf: Work in progress. We only got out twice this summer.... what a sad sad realization. The first attempt this summer was traumatizing. The waves were HUGE (huge in my standards at least) and I wasn't expecting it. "Paddling" out (if you could even call it that, I would call it more of a beating) took about 20 minutes. The sets were coming in one right after the other so there was never a break. There was about 10 seconds (or what felt like 10 seconds) between waves, so I pretty much ducking from one wave to the next.... I felt so bad because Josh just stuck right by my side the entire time, even though he could have paddled out in about 1 minute. I became so exhausted that I thought I was going to drown. By the time we got out past the waves I was having a mini panic attack... I even started crying! I apologized through the sobs to Josh for being such a wimp and paddled my butt back in. So we will leave this as a 'work in progress'! Can't wait for next summer :)
#8 Read the entire bible: Thank God for smart phones! The small group that I am a part of decided to do this together. Most of us set up plans on our phones... some of the plans were a year long and some were 90 days. I am on day 46 out of 365. It is so nice to be in the word everyday... I am learning so much already!
#34 Run a 1/2 marathon: Almost to the finish line! I am running the OBX 1/2 Marathon on November 13th. So I am in full on training mode. It has been a challenge but it feels good to actually be taking care of my body. More details and photos to come when the race is finished.
#84 Learn & execute all power lifts: I actually have to know this for my job so it is kind of cheating. But yes... I have learned all of the power lifts but I have a LONG way to go before I have them executed. They are not easy needless to say, they make a girl sweat!
#91 Rent of buy a house: We are in a house!!! It is very exciting. I will keep this one brief because I plan on posting a much more involved blog with pictures and all. It is perfect. Two bedroom, nice garage, big backyard.
I think that's everything. Update 101 accomplished. More to come... much much more :) And with that I leave you with a saying that makes me smile...
